Drexel University’s College of Medicine’s Center for Advanced Microbial Processing is fighting back against diseases, studying ticks and the pathogens they carry using comprehensive high-resolution microbiome analyses. To continue their research, they need YOUR help. If you find a tick on yourself, a friend or a pet, please take five minutes to complete the form (click below) and mail it, along with the tick, to Drexel. Fry Laboratories is a Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory with expertise in diagnosing bacterial, fungal, and protozoal disease concentrating in the tick and vector borne diseases. They are especially interested in acquired environmental fungal infections, the human microbiome and their correlate with chronic inflammatory disease.
Animal Testing
Since January 2013, NC State’s Vector Borne Disease Diagnostic Laboratory has offered Canine or Feline Comprehensive Panels that detect antibodies against 12 known species and detect the presence, within circulating blood or submitted tissues, of disease-causing organisms from 5 pathogenic genera.
